Following a highly successful luncheon in Melbourne on 5th June, Mr Marius Kloppers, Chief Executive Officer, BHP Billiton addressed an audience of 400 at the Melbourne Mining Club luncheon at the Café Royal in London on 23rd June 2008.

This luncheon, like the Melbourne one which preceded it, was completely sold out. A copy of Mr Kloppers' presentation can be viewed on the BHP Billiton website.

On 11th June, 2007 the Melbourne Mining Club held its first off-shore luncheon. Held in London the luncheon attracted 320 attendees with the guest speaker being Mr José Carlos Martins, Executive Director, Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD). CVRD is a global metals and mining company with operations in Brazil, Canada, Indonesia and Australia. CVRD has business activities on 5 continents and in more than 20 countries. CVRD is a global leader in iron ore and metal production and is also an important global player in the aluminium, magnesium and copper industries.
